Gopher Plantation has a diverse habitat with big pine plantations, ty ty bays, agriculture fields, oak ridges, and miles of river frontage. The plantation offers all types of hunting and fishing opportunities. They range from deer, turkey, wild boar, quail, chuckar, pheasant tower shoots, predator hunts, as well as bass, bream, speckled perch and channel catfish fishing trips. There are 5 fish ponds and two rivers to fish from. There are also some bowfishing opportunities in the ponds and on the rivers. The plantation has around 100 stands to hunt from when pursuing the big bucks on the Gopher. The stands are 4 ft wide by 6 ft long and have office chairs in them. They are great for a father-son or mother-daughter or several family members at one time. The Gopher encourages the whole family to enjoy the great outdoors and there is something for everyone. Many youngsters have taken their first animal with the very experienced guides that work and live on the plantation. They are constantly scouting to know exactly what the game is doing during that time period of the year. There is approximately 600 acres of planted food plots to hold and grow trophy bucks in the fall. For those interested there are sometimes opportunities to take hogs while deer hunting as well as other fur predators from the coyote, to the fox, and bobcats.
