Jekyll Island
About Jekyll Island
Located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, Jekyll Island sits along a beautiful stretch of pristine beach. The island's history dates back more than 3 million years to when a giant shark called Megalodon swam here. Today, much of Jekyll's earliest history is preserved on the island through numerous tours and attractions that tell the story of this remarkable place.
The Jekyll Island Historic District is one of the largest historic districts in Georgia with more than 70 structures on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Jekyll Island Club Hotel and Casino, a luxurious oceanfront resort. See all that our small town has to offer such as great restaurants, entertainment and shopping all in one place.
