Abercorn Street is best if you have kids; Bay Street is better if you like a party scene. The best place to get a decent view is along Broughton Street, but there isn't much shade there, so bring sunscreen and/or a hat.
If you can, take a shuttle to the parade. There are parking lots and garages, but they get booked up fast.
